Ensures through his actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the NMC Hospitals and Clinics. Sets up and operates immobile and mobile radiologic equipment. Positioning patient in the most suitable posture. Taking care of the patient to avoid aggravation of injury and distortion of organs in the film due to the position assumed by the patient. Check diagnostic quality and proper positioning. Center the machine at the proper angles and height over the area to be x-ray. Measure the density of the area to x-ray. Compute the exposure time to produce radiographs of proper detail, density, contrast and freedom from distortion. Assist Radiologist in procedures. Measures and mixes Barium, kaolin and similar solution. Assist Radiologist during examination in designated positions of assigned examination. Keep records and files properly identified. Keep work area clean and orderly. Instruct students in radiologic methods and techniques as assigned. Responsible to educate patients /families as per their needs and to implement their whole role regarding patient / family education process as mention in patient & family education policy and procedure including documentation in patient medical record. They are knowledgeable about their essential role in patient and family education. Involves the patient/families in plan of care and respects patients/families regarding their goals and choices of patient care. Conducts and directs occupational therapy program activities designed to rehabilitate mentally or physically disabled patients. Aids the Physician/Surgeon/Psychiatrist in evaluating the mental or physical functioning level of the patient by using written and verbal screening tests or giving the patient specific functions to perform. Applies occupational therapy techniques in treating the physically disabled by giving functional activity. Applies passive and active range of motion. Grades the activities to aid in strengthening muscles and enhancing the coordination of the hands and fingers. Gives activities to help in perceptual problems and to improve eye-hand coordination. Teaches activities of daily living for the physically disables using appropriate techniques with adaptive equipment; devises, appliances and gadgets as necessary to make it possible for patients to carry out tasks of everyday living to maximize independence. Uses working skills such as textile crafts, jewelry making; wood working and others to restore patients; joint motions, muscle strength and coordination. Provides activities to the long-term patient to prevent mental distress. Conducts individual or group therapy sessions for psychiatric patient. Uses art materials for non-verbal communication for accomplishment, self expression and to aid diagnosis. Makes hospital rounds with Physicians/Surgeons, as requested, to discuss patient progress under occupational therapy. Coordinates Occupational Therapy Service with Nursing Service to provide patient treatment continuity. Writes progress notes in patients' charts. Submits periodic census report of Occupational therapy work performed. Prepares orders for new material needed or major equipment repairs; maintains records and inventory of property and supplies; prepares relevant budget and accountability report data. Teaches the patients how to use orthosis or adaptive equipment, wheelchair transfer technique for home and community use, home management skills presenting simpler modified method to minimize the fatigue and conserve energy. Aids in maintaining and improving joint range of motion, muscle strength, endurance, coordination and dexterity particularly of upper limbs. Evaluates the home environment and suggest modification to provide a barrier free environment. Job Summary Consultant is responsible for providing care for his/her patients (inpatient and outpatient) maintaining a high-level of professional performance in accordance with: Professional medical ethics and JCIA/CBAHI standards. Hospital medical by-laws. Laws of Ministry of Health in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and any other applicable regulations according to the departmental quality plan. Providing effective leadership of the department maintaining an appropriate quality plan using measurable performance improvement standards in the field of general surgery.
