Specialist - Emergency Medical services

Ensures through his/her actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the Riyadh Care Hospital.

Triage patients to medical care according to the acuity of their illness, in cooperation with the Emergency Room Nurses.

Critical thinking, compassion, patient treatment skills, clear oral and communication

To work under the guidance and direction of the ER Head Nurse.

Required to perform phlebotomy procedures

Wound care and splinting

EKG’s and heart rhythm monitoring

Triage patient care

Work relating to lab specimens, including collections and delivery

Assist with transporting patients into and out the department to other areas of the hospital for tests.

Additional duties; helping patients for the lifting and positioning to complete certain procedures, patients, and visitors.

Standard precautions are exercised with all patients and procedures.

Treatment rooms and equipment are appropriately cleaned per department policy.

Equipment is inspected to ensure that it is functioning properly and malfunctions are                                                                                        reported per department policy.

Treatment rooms and the storeroom are appropriately stocked with supplies to ensure prompt patient treatment.

Instrument trays are cleaned and exchanged with central supply per policy and on a daily

Rescue equipment is cleaned and stored properly.

Abides by the Policies and Procedures of the department and the Care Hospital.

Responsible to educate patients /families as per their needs and to implement their whole role regarding patient / family education process as mention in patient & family education policy and procedure (NSP-GEN-014) including documentation in patient medical record.

They are knowledgeable about their essential role in patient and family education.

Involves the patient/families in plan of care and respects patients/families regarding their goals and choices of patient care.

Provides health promotion and health teaching thru methods appropriate to a patients’ developmental level, learning needs, readiness and ability to learn, language preference, culture and situations.

Allots time necessary to assess, plan implement and evaluate patient education provided to patients/families with appropriate documentation.

Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities.

Reporting to

·      Head of Medical Emergency Services.

Supervises

None.

Liaises with:

Other Emergency Room Physicians, Physicians from medical department and staff of Supporting Professional Services.

Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Emergency Medical Services. 

Certified from the Saudi Council for Health Specialties

EXPERIENCE:

Required

Minimum one (1) years’ experience Post Qualification.

Desirable

Registration in Saudi Medical Council

• Must have good interpersonal skills.
