Job Description

The Physical Therapist is responsible for conducting treatment sessions and developing programs using a wide range of physical therapy modalities and methods to enhance patients' functional outcomes. The therapist works in coordination with Physicians and Surgeons to implement therapeutic strategies for patients recovering from disabilities and diseases—ranging from mild sprains and strains to complex neurological conditions and amputations. Interventions include manual therapy, isometric exercises, and the use of physical agents such as heat, water, and advanced therapeutic equipment. The therapist is also responsible for monitoring, documenting, and evaluating patients’ responses and progress throughout the rehabilitation process.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

Ensure the delivery of high-quality medical care and compassion to every patient treated at Riyadh Care Hospital.

 

 

Evaluate, plan, and carry out physical therapy treatment sessions.

 

 

Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes for review by the medical team.

 

 

Manage and maintain an individual patient caseload, assuming full responsibility for care delivery.

 

 

Supervise and guide the activities of Physical Therapy Technicians.

 

 

Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and clinical in-service sessions.

 

 

Prepare patients for hospital discharge through education on precautions, procedures, and home care instructions.

 

 

Communicate any significant changes in a patient’s condition to the medical team.

 

 

Complete daily treatment documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

 

 

Report and assist in resolving any issues with treatment area maintenance or equipment functionality.

 

 

Consult with the medical team to discuss diagnoses and formulate treatment strategies.

 

 

Support the attending Physician/Surgeon in determining appropriate therapy plans; review records, schedule sessions, and evaluate test results.

 

 

Recommend treatment programs for specific conditions, and submit written plans for physician approval.

 

 

Apply precise manual therapy and massage techniques; utilize therapeutic tools such as hydrotherapy, infrared/ultraviolet lamps, diathermy, and ultrasound.

 

 

Guide patients in the use of prosthetic devices and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventions.

 

 

Maintain complete records of patients’ diagnoses, evaluations, and treatment plans; recommend adjustments based on progress.

 

 

Instruct ward personnel and educate patients/families on home treatment procedures; lead training programs for medical staff and community groups.

 

 

Stay updated on emerging equipment and treatment techniques and provide recommendations accordingly.

 

 

Educate patients and families in accordance with the Patient & Family Education Policy; ensure proper documentation in medical records.

 

 

Respect the roles and contributions of patients and families in care planning and decision-making.

 

 

Promote health education tailored to patients’ developmental stages, learning capacities, and preferences.

 

 

Allocate time for thorough assessment, education planning, and evaluation with appropriate documentation.

 

 

Adhere to the hospital's dress code and professional standards.

 

 

Perform any additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role and based on competencies and skills.
