Job Description

Job Summary

 

Performs tasks associated with repair operation and maintenance of any electronic equipment, any electronic control, including instrumentation and fire alarm systems. Follows all hospital and department policies, procedures, and international standards.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

 

  • Ensures through his actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the NMC Hospitals and Clinics.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Maintains calibration of all electronic equipment and instrumentation controllers, devices, gauges, meters and instruments used in various equipment control systems.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Supports any maintenance technician in trouble shooting of equipment faults or problems particularly associated with electronics and instrumentation systems.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Conducts repair of any electronic associated equipment including typewriters, door closer and any household appliances.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Performs periodic tests, calibration and inspection of fire alarms and fire protection devices and ensures that they are functioning properly all the time.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Conducts monitoring, check-up and repair of Nurse Call Systems.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Submits monthly written report to the supervisor after each inspection/check-up is conducted.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Performs periodic maintenance work assigned system, as per schedule made by the supervisor and ensures that it is implemented accordingly.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Work is conducted in a professional manner maintains patients/all confidential when required.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Follows all departments polices and procedures.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Participates in on-going education program developed by the department, e.g. Department Policy and Procedures, Fire Safety, Risk Management, Environmental control.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities.

Qualifications

 

A minimum of:

 

 

 

  • High School Graduate with completion of two-year technical course in Electronics/ Instrumentation Technology.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Five (5) years experience in repairs of electronic equipment including audio/video systems, household appliances, office equipment, electronic control systems of certain machinery/equipment and microprocessors.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in operation and maintenance of any electronic system installed in a building.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Competent working knowledge in microprocessor base and programmable controllers, devices and calibration tests on instrument devices and apparatus.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Fluency in verbal and written English.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Working knowledge of OSHA and international safety standards.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Exhibits professionalism and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
