Electrician

Job Summary

 

Monitors all electrical equipments, maintain and installations of electrical systems, facilities including lightings and other electrically operated equipments and to ensure safety, effective operations based on international standards and hospital policy and procedures.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

 

• Ensures through his actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the NMC Hospitals and Clinics.

 

 

• Responsible for the operation, preventive maintenance, repair of stand-by generators and its accessories as required.

 

 

• Responsible for the maintenance, repair replacement, installation and preventive maintenance of all internal and external lighting system of the hospital and housing.

 

 

• Responsible for the operation, preventive maintenance, repairs of switchgears, distribution boards, panel boards, motor control centers, transformers, ATS, UPS and accessories as required.

 

 

• Responsible for the daily monitoring and inspections of all electrical equipments running 24 hours.

 

 

• Responsible for the daily monitoring of energy consumption of the hospital and housing and for the monthly reading of electric meters in housing buildings.

 

 

• Responsible for the installation of electrical systems, renovations works, locate and determine electrical malfunctions using various electrical testing instruments.

 

 

• Install fixtures, motors and other electrical equipments and inspects circuits and wirings for specified shielding, grounding system according to hospital codes and safety regulations.

 

 

• Responsible for the general cleanliness of all electrical equipments, utilities, workshop, electrical rooms and facilities as required.

 

 

• To attend all maintenance work request and phone-in request in hospital and housing.

 

 

• Responsible for the repair, preventive maintenance of electrically operated equipments and control panels in STP, WTP and other pumps controllers.

 

 

• To ensure that all works are within the specified hospital and international standards and safety.

 

 

• To perform other applicable jobs and duties assigned within the limits of his knowledge and capabilities.

 

 

• To participate in educational programs develop by the department as departmental policy and procedures, fire safety, risk management and environmental control.

 

 

• Report to the immediate superior regarding the status of equipments and the problems encountered and submit written report of the PPM done.

 

 

• To immediately attend in all emergency situations as required by the engineer or supervisor.

 

 

• Performs Additional tasks and duties as assigned by superiors

 

 

Qualifications

 

A minimum of:

 

 

 

• Technical school graduates in Industrial Electricity or Electrical Technology.

 

 

 

 

 

• Five (5) years experience in the operation and maintenance of various electrical equipments and utilities in a large hospital or any health care facilities.

 

 

 

 

 

• Fluency in verbal and written English.

 

 

 

 

 

• Capable of interpreting electrical drawings and circuit diagrams against actual installations.

 

 

 

 

 

• Working knowledge of OSHA and other international standards.

 

 

 

 

 

• Exhibits excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer service.

 

 

 

 

 

• Basic knowledge in computer operations is must.
